Once you schedule a visit from one our professional technicians they will access the area and then suggest which system is most suitable for your space.
Discussed below, is the different types of air conditioning systems that are readily available on the market and a brief description of what they are used for.
Central Air Conditioning System
Central air conditioning is typically used to condition air in large areas such as large buildings, large homes, large offices, hotels, gyms, theaters, factories and more. It tends to be extremely expensive to install a system for each room in scenarios like this. HVAC technicians will generally recommend central air conditioning in situations such as these.
A central air conditioning system is composed of a very large compressor that has the capacity to generate up to hundreds of tons of conditioned air. Allowing for the cooling of large halls, malls, huge spaces, and the like, central air conditioning systems tend to be what is used. Typically this is the only feasible solution for vast spaces such as these.
Packaged Air Conditioner
Packaged air conditioners are typically suggested by an HVAC technician in situations where you want to cool more than two rooms or a large space in a home or office setting. There are 2 possible setups with a packaged unit. The first one is where all of the components, the compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator are in a single box. The conditioned air is distributed by a high capacity blower. This conditioned air flows through ductwork that is placed through various rooms.
The second setup, the compressor and condenser are in one cashing. Compressed gas is distributed through individual units which are comprised of the expansion valve and cooling coil. These are located in various rooms.
Split Air Conditioner
The split air conditioner or mini-split system is comprised of two parts. These two parts are the outdoor and indoor unit. The outdoor unit is installed on the outside of the room. The outdoor unit is comprised of the components like the compressor, condenser and expansion valve.
The indoor unit for the split air conditioner is installed on the wall or ceiling inside of the room to be conditioned. Indoor units do not take up much space and generally recommended in scenarios where you are looking to cool just one or two rooms and / or it would be much easier to set up a split type system than a central system or window unit.
Window Air Conditioner
Window air conditioners are for single room applications. All of the components for a window air conditioner are housed in one box, namely the compressor, condenser, expansion valve or coil, evaporator and cooling coil. The window air conditioner is housed in a slot made in the wall of the room or the window.
