The best time to service your air conditioner is in the early spring, before you’re relying heavily on the unit to keep you cool, typically sometime between Easter and Memorial Day. When it comes to maintaining your heating system, we typically schedule the fall visit between the start of the Texas State Fair (end of September) and Christmas. Our Cool Club members enjoy prompt, timely scheduling for these important visits.

During your twice-a-year HVAC maintenance visit, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive tune-up. Our technicians will:

  • Check air filters
  • Clean outdoor coil
  • Check cleanliness of indoor coil
  • Check refrigerant pressures
  • Check system superheat and subcooling
  • Take voltage and amp draw measurements of compressors and fan motors
  • Ensure compressor crankcase heater is operational
  • Visually inspect unit for refrigerant leaks (signs of oil residue, etc.)
  • Clear debris from electrical panel
  • Check electrical components for signs of damage (such as contractors, relays, capacitors, circuit boards, etc.)
  • Check operation of safety controls (low and high-pressure cut-outs, etc.)
  • Ensure operation of low ambient control if applicable
  • Tighten electrical connections
  • Record temperature differences across indoor and outdoor coils
  • Check condensate pan for leaks
  • Check thermostat operation

Regular HVAC maintenance offers several valuable benefits. A system that’s well-maintained will:

  • Have fewer repair needs
  • Enjoy a longer lifespan
  • Offer better energy efficiency
  • Provide enhanced home comfort

Keeping up with regular heating and air conditioning maintenance will give you long-term savings in the form of lower utility bills, fewer repairs, and less frequent system replacements. Sign up for the Cool Club and start cashing in on these perks today.
