Frequently Asked Questions:
K&S Heating and Air provides a two-year workmanship warranty to its builders. The normal equipment warranty period is five years but may be as high as ten years if registered with the manufacturer. For homeowners, they are fully covered for two years and covered for equipment and parts (but not labor, unless your homebuilder has stated otherwise) for at least five years.
You want to change your air filters every 30-60 days with a standard one-inch filter. Four-inch filters can last longer, up to six months. The filter can typically be changed in the attic at the furnace, and there is one filter per system.
It is good practice to have a maintenance plan with K&S Heating and Air, so become a Cool Club member today https://kandsac.com/cool-club/. Other aspects of good maintenance include regular filter changes and keeping the condenser clear of debris and other blockages.
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) starts with a good-quality air filter. Many homeowners like to have a UV light or other air cleaner on their system. A humidifier (or dehumidifier) can also be helpful to create the optimal indoor climate. If you're concerned about indoor air quality, give us a call today.
First, you want to make sure the filter(s) is/are clean. Second, you want to have your thermostat set to the proper setting. Make sure all air supply grills around your home are open and not blocked. It is normal for there to be a +/- 4° variance between rooms. If you still experience uneven temperatures above the +/- 4° variance in your home, please call us for a consultation.
Every thermostat is different, and all have detailed instructions manuals online (which you can also download and print). We would be happy to assist you with this or show you how to operate your thermostat when we visit your home.
Yes, K&S Heating and Air will provide all new homeowners with a free homeowner orientation consultation on request within the first six months of moving in. Please call us to schedule. At this consultation, we will show you how to self-maintain your system, operate your thermostat, and everything else you need to know.
Some systems enable the homeowner to connect its HVAC system to its favored dealer, such as K&S Heating and Air. If your system allows this, please insert our phone number (972-942-8078) when asked for the dealer code. The dealer remote access enables K&S Heating and Air to monitor your system on a real-time basis, receive alerts if there are any issues, and in some cases, provide a remote diagnostic.
Yes, we do. If you become a member of our Cool Club, we will visit your home twice a year and make sure your system operates properly. Learn more here https://kandsac.com/cool-club/.
